The House of Representatives

Behold this elegant 11 x 17 inch print, depicting some Jurassic shenanigans in the House of Representatives.

Comes with this description: This beautiful lithograph from 1866 showcases the sophistication of the House of Representatives chamber in the Capitol building. Note the exquisite attention to detail in the skylights, the ornate wall treatments, even the buttons on the coat of Rep. Parnassus T. Rexworthy. At the time of this drawing, the junior representative from the territory of Monster Island was proposing his controversial “Eat All Humans” bill that, due to partisan support, was only narrowly defeated.
