The Camaçari Creature of Brazil

Celebrate your love of Brazilian history in style with this 11 x 17 inch print.

This birds-eye view of Salvador, Brazil dates from 1671 and was created by cartographer Arnoldus Montanus. Montanus included many notes of interest to historians, such as the various ports of entry for the city, the Catholic Repositorium, and the last known location of the Camaçari Creature (locally the “Criatura Camaçari”), a giant beast from the mountains who menaced the city during the 17th and 18th centuries.
