On Tuesday, October 29th at 9pm, celebrate the 60th anniversary of Ed Wood’s DIY masterpiece “Plan 9 From Outer Space,” with an all new score* performed live on stage by Pittsburgh musician Swampwalk and get a hand-signed & numbered 18 x 24 inch screen-printed poster on black paper with silver metallic ink. Doors 9pm, show starts at 9:30pm. Runtime one hour and twenty minutes. Please note that your ticket is electronic; once you purchase a ticket, your name will be added to our guest list at the door. *Why a new score? Doesn’t Plan 9 already have music? Yes, but not a score. Music Supervisor Gordon Zahler assembled the soundtrack for the film ostensibly using clips from sound libraries, although by my own accounting and research, many of the composers and clips were never properly credited (as was common in the low-budget film world). By taking out the fun but overly bombastic or strangely silent musical cues, it gives Anna from Swampwalk the chance to reimagine the soundtrack in a fun & foreboding way.
