The Pier at Long Beach

Carnival rides, amusements, and the Man-Seabeast! Learn about Long Beach, California with this 11 x 17 print.

Comes with this description: "Before a massive earthquake in 1933 destroyed much of the region, Long Beach was a popular resort destination for many eager to enjoy the California sun. The pier extended out far into the water and housed an enormous entertainment complex to rival that of its East Coast sister, Coney Island. Yet the complex was not without its problems, such as the incident seen here: In 1908, the Man-Seabeast of the Marina (in reality a run-of-the-mill denizen of Atlantis) broke free from its restraining devices at the Midway and ran amok along the pier.
