As the entire world planned a visit to Chicago for the 1892-1893 Columbian Exposition, a large Martian contingent was planning a visit for an entirely different reason. The people of Sanborn Insurance intercepted, translated, and published this poster and pamphlet, warning of a retaliatory invasion from Mars, as payback for the unpleasantness after the great Chicago Fire. Sadly, the poster was seen just as more promotion for the Columbian Expo, and no one realized the threat was real...UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE!
