The Great Ape Loose at the West Side Market

"It can't happen here!" That's what the people of Cleveland said when they saw a famous ape loose in New York City atop the skyscrapers. Yet this 8.5 x 11 inch print offers "proof" that the Great Ape was once loose in Ohio!

Comes with this description:
After the successful capture and display of “The Great Ape” in 1933 by intrepid explorer Cooper Merian, the show (which was sold out in New York) was taken on the road. After some problems with the show in Indianapolis, citizens of Cleveland were assured that it was virtually impossible for the monster to break free from his chains and run rampant throughout the town. Obviously this was not the case.
