September 28: Happy Hour, 3-7pm
Alternate Histories Studio, 517 Greenfield Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15207
Saturday, September 28 from 3-7pm is the FINAL Greenfield Happy Hour of the year and we're pulling out all the stops! La Palapa will be here with those good tacos, quesadillas, empanadas & more. Our friends & neighbors at Golden Age Beer will be pouring easy-drinking lagers. From 4-6pm, the Coleman Street Jazz All Stars, led by Thomas Wendt, will be performing live. And Amy Garbark from garbella design will be hosting a Community Indigo Dip Dye event: bring your own tshirt of piece of clothing (or buy one on-site) and dye it using natural indigo colors. Transform a stained piece into something you'll wear again! We'll also have a great set of vendors that we'll be announcing soon, plus some sales and clearouts on summer merch here at the Studio; mark your calendars and bring the family on Saturday, September 28, 3-7pm!

It's baaaaaaack. Our hugely popular VHS store horror pop-up returns for the entire month of October, kicking off with a party on Saturday, October 5 from 12-4pm! Be the first to see all the vintage VHS tapes for sale from Flipping Records and Tapes (not just horror this year - lots of different genres). Peruse our collection of vintage Fangoria magazines for just $5 each, with all the proceeds going to PAAR (Pittsburgh Action Against Rape). Enjoy a pop-up of spooktacular art & accessories from local vendor Mysterious and Ooky! Check out movies as they were meant to be seen, on VHS. And snack on free Halloween treats, and get an exclusive new retro t-shirt & stickers. The Alternate Histories Video Pop-Up will run Friday & Saturdays, October 5-26.

October 10: Plan 9 From Outer Space Screening, 7:30pm

A free screening of Edward D. Wood Jr’s PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE in the studio, to commemorate what would have been Wood’s 100th birthday. Free popcorn for kids, free beers for adults with ID, and special Ed Wood merchandise on sale.

October 19: In Dead by Ten Halloween Dance Party, 5-10pm

Hidden Harbor & In Bed by Ten are joining forces to throw a hell of a Halloween party at This is Red in Munhall on Saturday, October 19 from 5-10 p.m.! Join us for IN DEAD BY TEN, featuring spookily delicious drinks from four different bars (Hidden Harbor, Golden Age, Independent Brewing Company, and Lorelei), ghoulish grooves from three devilish DJs (Formosa, Rojo, and EZ Lou), and one frightfully fun costume contest! Plus food from Golden Age and Scream-o-Rama, a program of cursed video curiosities cured by Alternate Histories, all in a century-old, multi-level restored Slovakian church that's the coolest event space in town. Early bird tickets are on sale now for just $20; price at the door is $30. Bring your friends, bring a costume, and be ready to drink & dance til 10 p.m.!

October 26: Alternate Histories Video Closing Party with DJ J. Malls, 2-5pm
J. Malls of Flipping Records and tapes, who has been providing all the VHS tapes and vinyl soundtracks for the pop-up, will be DJing Halloween records from 2-5pm for the closing day of the pop-up.

November 26: Atomic Cinema DESTROY ALL MONSTERS with DJ Formosa, 7:30pm

Atomic Cinema roars back to Bottlerocket on Tuesday, November 26th at 7:30pm with a special screening of Ishirō Honda’s Godzilla epic DESTROY ALL MONSTERS. And to make it extra super special, DJ Formosa (Stephfrom Jellyfish & all your fave dance parties) will be spinning a new pop soundtrack LIVE while the film happens! DESTROY ALL MONSTERS is a sixties fever dream of scientists, female aliens, mind control, and the stunning kaiju fight that ends the film, where Godzilla, Mothra, Minilla, King Ghidorah, Rodan, Baragon, Varan, Kumonga, Manda, Maguma, and Ebira all throw down in one titantic brawl.
