The Great Ape Loose in Indianapolis

The king of the jungle...in Indianapolis? It happened (it didn't) and this 11 x 17 print is the proof (not really). Comes with this description:

After the successful capture and display of “The Great Ape” in 1933 by intrepid explorer Cooper Merian, the show (which was sold out in New York) was taken on the road. All went well until the stop in Indianapolis at the Indiana Theater and Ballroom. Despite dozens of performances where the great iron chains held the beast in place, this time things went wrong. The ape escaped and rampaged throughout downtown Indianapolis, eventually ending up at the Soldiers & Sailors Monument in Monument Circle.
