Even more interestingly, the site was known throughout the region for its unique topography and for the prehistoric monsters that existed at the top. Long considered a “land that time forgot,” many visitors to the top of Lookout Mountain enjoyed viewing dinosaurs in their natural habitat until the last of the Tyrannosaurs was hunted to extinction in the early 20th century.
