Comes with this description:
"Many obstacles confronted architect John A. Roebling when he was contracted to build what was, at the time, the longest suspension bridge in the world over the Ohio River in 1866. Most significant was the vocal community opposition to the project, as many feared that no bridge could span the length of the river or be strong enough to survive attacks by “Clancy,” the Ohio River Octopus. In fact, the bridge proved more than capable of withstanding the stresses of construction, and Roebling befriended Clancy, with the many tentacled beast keeping watch over bridge well into the 20th century."
